About East Grand Forks Youth Playground

Our Summer Playground Program is a longtime favorite and a great way for kids to stay active, creative, and connected during the summer months.  The program begins each day at the Campbell Library. From there, kids can choose to swim at Sherlock Pool, head to Sherlock Park for the playground and games, or stay at the library for crafts, reading, or a movie.

Age Levels

The program is open to children ages 6–10 (as of April 30th, 2026).

EGF Residents and Non-Residents

Programs offered through the EGF Parks & Recreation Department are setup for citizens within the EGF city limits. For the Playground program, spots will only become available to non-EGF residents beginning March 18th. Those wishing to participate that live within Polk County but outside of the city limits MUST complete the Non-resident Participation Form.

Registration

Playground registration will take place in phases based on feedback from the Parks & Recreation Commission to ensure East Grand Forks residents have priority when registering since there is a participant limit of 100.

From March 4th - March 31st, only City of East Grand Forks residents will be allowed to register for Playground. Starting on April 1st, registration will open up to participants living outside of EGF City Limits but attending school in EGF and living within Polk County. Then on April 15th, any participants living outside of EGF and Polk County will be able to register for any remaining spots.
