Pre-Aspire is the next step up from Non-Competitive Synchro, offering skaters the opportunity to build on their skating and synchronized skating skills while preparing for the possibility of advancing to competitive teams.

This is the PERFECT way for skaters to:

• Build on the fundamentals learned in Non-Competitive Synchro
• Develop stronger skating, teamwork, and synchronization skills
• Build confidence while skating as part of a team
• Perform in fun showcases and exhibitions
• Gain experience and prepare for the next level of synchronized skating

Whether your skater has participated in Non-Competitive Synchro or is ready to take the next step in their skating journey, Pre-Aspire is for YOU!

Pre-Aspire Synchro, in partnership with the Northern Lights Figure Skating Club, is an introductory synchronized skating program designed for skaters who are ready to progress beyond the non-comp team and develop their skills at the next level.



Participants will continue to develop teamwork, precision, skating skills, and synchronization while performing in community exhibitions and gaining valuable experience before advancing to competitive teams.

Team placement and eligibility are determined by the synchronized skating coaches based on the best interests of both the individual skater and the team.

Skaters participating on competitive Northern Lights Figure Skating Club teams are required to participate in club fundraising opportunities. Pre-Aspire families are encouraged to support club events and activities throughout the season.

Pre-Aspire tryouts will be held at the Blue Line Club Arena. 

Tryouts provide coaches with an opportunity to evaluate each skater's skating skills and determine appropriate team placement.

All Pre-Aspire synchronized skating participants must be registered with both the Northern Lights Figure Skating Club (NLFSC) and Learn to Skate USA. Registration for both memberships can be completed through the NLFSC membership website.

Please ensure that both registrations are completed prior to participating in synchronized skating activities to maintain eligibility and provide the appropriate club and Learn to Skate USA membership coverage.

Pre-Aspire Synchro is recommended for skaters 5 years of age and older who have completed Basic 3 Learn to Skate. Skaters below Basic 2 are not eligible to participate.

Skaters who do not meet the recommended requirements may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis by coaching staff.

Programs offered through the EGF Parks & Recreation Department are setup for citizens within the EGF city limits. Those wishing to participate that live within Polk County but outside of the city limits MUST complete the Non-resident Participation Form prior to registering.

What to Bring

• Figure skates or hockey skates (depending on class)
• Warm clothing
• Gloves or mittens
• Water bottle clearly marked with athlete's name
