The East Grand Forks Pre-Juvenile Synchronized Skating Team, in partnership with the Northern Lights Figure Skating Club, is a competitive program for developing skaters who are ready to build on their individual skating skills while competing as part of a synchronized skating team. Participants refine technical skating abilities, teamwork, and performance skills through regular practices, exhibitions, and regional competitions.

Team size ranges from 8-20 skaters. Team placement is determined by the synchronized skating coaches and Skating Director. Skaters who do not meet all recommended requirements may be considered on an individual basis, while placement decisions are made in the best interest of each team and the overall program.

Competitive team members are expected to participate in fundraising opportunities that support the Northern Lights Figure Skating Club and its programs.

Preliminary Synchro will  begin October 12th at the Blue Line Club Arena until construction is completed at the VFW Memorial Arena.

Sundays: 5:45–7:15 PM

Wednesdays: 6:00–8:00 AM (as needed)

Thursdays: 4:00–5:15 PM

Practice schedules, performances, and competitions are subject to change.

All competitive synchronized skating participants must be registered with both the Northern Lights Figure Skating Club (NLFSC) and U.S. Figure Skating (USFS). Registration for both memberships can be completed through the NLFSC membership website.

Please ensure that both registrations are completed before participating in synchronized skating activities to maintain eligibility and compliance with club and U.S. Figure Skating requirements.

Pre-Juvenile team requirements are established by U.S. Figure Skating (USFS). To be eligible, skaters must be 17 years of age or younger and have successfully passed the Pre-Bronze Skating Skills test.

Team placement is determined by the synchronized skating coaches using the USFS-established requirements, along with each skater's skills, readiness, and overall team fit.

All skaters are required to participate in at least one 15-minute private lesson each week.

Programs offered through the EGF Parks & Recreation Department are setup for citizens within the EGF city limits. Those wishing to participate that live within Polk County but outside of the city limits MUST complete the Non-resident Participation Form prior to registering.

Skaters should also arrive prepared for both team instruction and individual skill development through their required weekly private lesson.
