A Place in the Community
Although the exact construction date of Itts Williams Park predates many of today's facilities, the park has long served as East Grand Forks' home for youth baseball and softball. Located adjacent to the Civic Center athletic complex, it has grown into one of the City's busiest seasonal recreation facilities, hosting youth league games, practices, instructional programs, and community events for decades. As participation in youth athletics has increased, Itts Williams Park has become an essential part of East Grand Forks' recreation system by providing dedicated fields for younger players while complementing the larger baseball facilities at Stauss Park. In recent years, the park has also been identified as a priority for future investment to improve field conditions, accessibility, drainage, and tournament capabilities.
Looking Ahead
Itts Williams Park is a key component of East Grand Forks' long-range recreation improvement plans. Proposed enhancements include upgraded drainage systems, improved ADA accessibility, safer field layouts, and the addition of a synthetic turf playing surface on one of the ballfields. These improvements are intended to lengthen the playing season, reduce weather-related cancellations, improve player safety, and position East Grand Forks to host additional regional youth baseball and softball tournaments while providing a higher-quality experience for local families.
