The East Grand Forks Open Juvenile Synchronized Skating Team, in partnership with the Northern Lights Figure Skating Club, is an advanced competitive program for experienced skaters committed to continued technical development and high-level team competition. Skaters refine synchronized skating skills while advancing their individual U.S. Figure Skating testing through regular practices, regional competitions, and exhibition performances.

Team size ranges from 8–20 skaters.

Team requirements represent the minimum eligibility standards. Skaters are expected to continue improving their individual skating skills and testing throughout their time on the team.

Team placement is determined by the synchronized skating coaches and Skating Director. Skaters who do not meet all requirements may be considered individually, while placement decisions are made in the best interest of each team and the overall program.



Competitive team members are expected to participate in fundraising opportunities that support the Northern Lights Figure Skating Club and its synchronized skating programs.

Open Juvenile Synchro will tentatively begin October 12th at be held at the VFW Memorial Arena.

Sunday: 7:30–9:00 PM

Tuesday: 8:30–10:00 PM

Wednesday: 6:00–8:00 AM (as needed)

Practice schedules, performances, and competitions are subject to change.

Polk County Resident (outside EGF city limits): $815**

Aspire Synchrol is dedicated to players age 20 years or younger and have passed the U.S. Figure Skating Pre-Preliminary Moves in the Field Test.

It is also recommended that skaters participate in one 15-minute private lesson each week and work toward Preliminary Moves in the Field.

Skaters are expected to attempt at least one U.S. Figure Skating sanctioned test (Moves in the Field, Dance, or Free Skate) each skating year (April 1–March 31).

The Bronze Dance Test is also recommended, along with a weekly private dance lesson.



Skaters who do not meet all requirements may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the coaching staff.

Programs offered through the EGF Parks & Recreation Department are setup for citizens within the EGF city limits. Those wishing to participate that live within Polk County but outside of the city limits MUST complete the Non-resident Participation Form prior to registering.

• Gloves or mittens
• Water bottle clearly marked with athlete's name

Skaters should also arrive prepared for both team instruction and individual skill development through their required weekly private lesson.
