Team Level: Exhibition Line

The East Grand Forks Exhibition Synchro Team, in partnership with the Northern Lights Figure Skating Club, is a non-competitive introductory synchronized skating program designed for skaters who are interested in learning the fundamentals of team skating. Participants develop teamwork, precision, and skating skills while performing in community exhibitions and gaining experience in synchronized skating before advancing to competitive teams.

With a minimum team size of 8 skaters, team placement and eligibility are determined by the synchronized skating coaches and Skating Director based on the best interests of both the individual skater and team.

Skaters participating on competitive Northern Lights Figure Skating Club teams are required to participate in club fundraising opportunities. While the Exhibition Team is non-competitive, families are encouraged to support club events and activities throughout the season.

Non-Competitive Synchro will tentatively begin October 12 and will be held from 3:00-3:30pm on Sundays at the VFW Memorial Arena.

$210.00 - participants living outside of EGF City Limits, attending school in EGF and live within Polk County**

Before registering for East Grand Forks Parks & Recreation Learn to Skate classes, you must first register with Learn to Skate USA to obtain your Learn to Skate USA membership number, which also provides your required insurance coverage. This membership is required for participants enrolling in regular Learn to Skate lessons. If you are a synchronized skater or an individual competitive skater participating in sanctioned events, you do not need to purchase a Learn to Skate USA membership, as your existing membership through your skating organization already provides the required coverage.

Non-Competitive Synchro is recommended for skaters 5 years of age and older and with a completion of Basic 3 Learn to Skate. Skaters below basic 2 will not be eligible to participate. Skaters who do not meet the recommended requirements may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the Skating Director and coaching staff. 

Programs offered through the EGF Parks & Recreation Department are setup for citizens within the EGF city limits. Those wishing to participate that live within Polk County but outside of the city limits MUST complete the Non-resident Participation Form prior to registering.

What to Bring

• Figure skates or hockey skates (depending on class)
• Warm clothing
• Gloves or mittens
• Water bottle clearly marked with athlete's name
