Following the nationally recognized Learn to Skate USA curriculum, the program offers progressive instruction beginning with Snowplow Sam for young beginners and advancing through Basic Skills, Hockey, and Freeskate levels. Led by experienced instructors at the VFW Memorial Arena, participants develop fundamental skating techniques, balance, coordination, and safety skills while preparing for recreational skating, figure skating, hockey, or other ice sports in a fun and encouraging environment.

We’re excited to offer learn to skate lessons from the ages of 3 and up.

Our Youth Parks & Recreation programs are designed for City of East Grand Forks residents and for those who live within Polk County, outside city limits, and attend school in EGF. Participants living outside city limits but within Polk County must complete a Non-Resident Participation Form prior to registering.

Registration for the 2026-2027 season opens Monday, August 10th  and closes Wednesday, September 9th. Register by September 3th to avoid a $50 late fee.
