ABOUT JR LEGION BASEBALL
This division fields one team and represents the highest level of competition in our baseball program. Playing time is earned at this level, and roster spots are limited, so cuts may be necessary. Players can expect to compete against teams from within our Sub-Section, such as Perham, Fergus Falls, Detroit Lakes, Thief River Falls, and Moorhead, or teams from Eastern North Dakota. The team participates in two weekend tournaments, as well as a year-end district tournament and potentially a state tournament. Teams are typically bused to most out-of-town games. Parents are responsible for providing transportation to out-of-town weekend tournaments.
DATES AND LOCATIONS
The Jr. Legion team will begin in early June and run through late July. Practices are typically held Monday through Friday in the mid- to late-afternoon on non-game days. Game Schedules will be posted at a later date. Confirmed tournament dates are as follows for 2026:
June 12th-14th, Robert Montgomery Memorial Tournament - Grand Forks
June 26th-28th, Sioux Falls Invite

$280.00 City of EGF residents
$330.00 participants living outside of EGF City Limits, attending school in EGF and live within Polk County
$560.00 participants living outside of EGF and Polk County**

REGISTRATION
Registration must be completed by clicking on the Registration tab below. Registration will open on Wednesday, March 4th and close Wednesday, March 25th. Registrations must be completed by March 18th to avoid paying a $50 late fee.
AGE LIMITS
Jr. Legion baseball is for players with born on or after January 1, 2009.
EGF RESIDENTS AND NON-RESIDENTS
Programs offered through the EGF Parks & Recreation Department are setup for citizens within the EGF city limits. Those wishing to participate that live within Polk County but outside of the city limits MUST complete the Non-Resident Participation Form prior to registering.
COMING PREPARED
Players should bring their own water bottles clearly marked with their name. Players must bring their own glove and are strongly recommended to bring their own batting helmet and bat. We will have bats and batting helmets available to use, if needed.
EVALUATIONS & TEAM FORMATION
We will field one team at this age level. This is the most competitive age division in our baseball program. There will be a defined number of players rostered, and cuts will be made if necessary. Evaluation date(s), time(s), and location(s) will be communicated once registration closes.
